Blacktail Creek Campground is a Forest Service campground in the Yampa Ranger District of the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest in Colorado. It sits at a higher elevation than the nearby town of Kremmling, and the weather station at Kremmling, about 11 miles away, sits roughly 1,600 feet lower, so temperatures at the campground run cooler. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the Kremmling station show July highs around 81°F with lows near 44°F, while winter highs stay in the 20s and 30s.
