The Sarlacc Boulder is a bouldering area in Donner Memorial State Park, California, set within the Truckee Ranger District of Tahoe National Forest. It is managed by State Park and Recreation and sits among a cluster of bouldering spots, with Unknown Boulder "A" and The Saddles both about 0.1 mile away. The climbing here is all bouldering, and the seven routes range from V0-1 to V1-2. The Sarlacc itself is one of them, and Boba Fett and Great Pit of Carkoon are others in the V1-2 range. The area is a compact destination for climbers looking for a short session on small boulders rather than a longer route. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station run to highs around 82°F in July and August with only two wet days a month, while winter brings highs near 40°F and about 10 wet days. That station sits roughly 1,000 feet lower than the boulders, so temperatures on the rock run cooler. The Emigrant Trail is about 0.4 mile away, and the Mt. Judah Loop is about 1.4 miles off. Cold Creek, a canoeing spot, is about 1.6 miles away, and Granite Flat campground is about 5 miles away.
