The Sanctuary is a climbing area in the Lower Trinity Ranger District of Six Rivers National Forest in California, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, with Trinity Arêtes about 0.8 miles away and Gargoyle, The about a mile off. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Cecilville show May highs around 75°F and October highs around 70°F, while July and August average in the mid-90s. That station sits roughly 1,000 feet lower than the Sanctuary, so temperatures here run cooler. For more time on the trail, Coon Creek Loop is about 1.9 miles away and South Fork Trinity about 2 miles. Burnt Ranch Campground, about 3.6 miles off, offers a place to stay.
