McCain Valley is a climbing area in California on Bureau of Land Management land within the El Centro Field Office. The surrounding trails and other climbing spots make it an easy base for a day of hiking and rock, with several routes and boulders within a mile or two. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Campo show April highs around 69°F and October highs around 78°F, while summer highs climb into the low 90s. That station sits well below the valley, so temperatures here run cooler. Valley Trail starts less than half a mile away, and Big Rock Trail and Ridge Trail are both about 0.7 miles off. For more climbing, Lowenbrau Pinnacle is about 1.4 miles away.
