Ant Boulder is a bouldering area in the Santa Barbara Ranger District of Los Padres National Forest in California, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among a cluster of other bouldering spots, with Rat Boulder and Sightings Boulder each about 0.1 mile away. The climbing here is all bouldering, with nine routes spread across the V0- to V5 range. The easiest are Army Ant at V0- and Piss Ant at V0, while The Ant Traverse is the hardest at V5. The Ant Traverse and Ant Arete are among the more notable climbs. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show April highs around 76°F and October highs around 83°F, while July and August average in the mid-90s. That station sits about 1,200 feet lower than the boulders, so temperatures on the rock run cooler. Nearby, Fremont Campground offers saltwater fishing about 4 miles away, and Paradise Campground and the Rattlesnake Trail are both a little over 4 miles off.
