Alpine Crags Road is a short, moderate mountain biking route in California's Tahoe National Forest, within the Truckee Ranger District. The out-and-back ride covers about a mile, with a one-way elevation gain of 314 feet, taking you from a low point of 6,473 feet to a high of 6,802 feet. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Tahoe City show July highs around 78°F with lows near 46°F and only about one wet day in the month. Winter brings highs near 40°F and several snowy days a month from December through February. Bear Creek Trail lies about half a mile away, and Scott Peak Road is roughly 0.9 miles off. Twin Crags and Shirley Canyon Cliffs, both climbing areas, are about 3 miles away.
