Upper Mccloud River is a hard hike in the McCloud Ranger District of Shasta-Trinity National Forest in California, about 30.5 miles long with a one-way elevation gain of 601 feet. The trail is an out-and-back, starting and ending at Algoma Cg-F, a campground just 0.1 mile away. The route is natural-surface and allows both horses and bikes. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is part of the national forest's network of routes. For comfortable weather, aim for late spring or early fall.
