Ridge Runner Trail is a 6.2-mile out-and-back hike in the Yuba River Ranger District of Tahoe National Forest in California, managed by the Forest Service. The trail rises from about 4,966 feet to about 5,391 feet, a climb of 450 feet, and is rated hard. The route is natural-surfaced and allows bikes. It is open year-round, and the nearest town is Truckee, about 10 miles away. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the nearby Bowman Dam weather station, at a similar elevation, show July highs around 82°F with lows near 54°F, while winter highs sit in the mid-40s. Sandusky and Truckee Ditch are both about 0.1 mile away. Ramshorn Campground is about 5.3 miles off, and Wolf Creek, a canoeing spot, is about 3.5 miles away.
