Prospect Hill is a hard hike in the Orleans Ranger District of Six Rivers National Forest in California, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is about 9 miles long, with a total elevation gain of 1,864 feet, and it follows a natural surface. Bikes are allowed. The most comfortable months for a visit are typically May and September. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Cecilville show May highs around 75°F and September highs around 89°F, while July and August average in the mid-90s. Pearch Creek Campground is about 3.4 miles away, and Camp Creek, a canoeing spot, is about 2.2 miles off. The Salmon River Trail and Red Wing Mine are both about 4 miles away.
