Pine Valley is an easy hike of about 1.8 miles in the Summit Ranger District of Stanislaus National Forest in California, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is an out-and-back with a one-way climb of about 493 feet, from a low point of about 7,032 feet to a high of about 7,522 feet. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July and August highs around 75°F with only about one wet day a month, while winter highs sit in the low 40s. The trail is on natural surface and allows both horses and bikes. Bell Meadow and the Mud Lake hike are each about 0.6 miles away. Sonora Pass Highway (108) is about 1.4 miles off, and Pinecrest campground is about 5.5 miles away.
