Mount Knight is a 2.3-mile out-and-back hike in the Mi-Wok Ranger District of Stanislaus National Forest in California, managed by the Forest Service. The trail rises from about 2,146 feet to 4,331 feet, a gain of 2,110 feet, and is rated easy. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the Calaveras Big Trees weather station, about 8 miles away, show July highs near 81°F with lows around 56°F and only about one wet day in the month. Winter is much colder, with highs in the mid-40s and lows near 30°F from December through February. The trail is natural-surface and allows both horses and bikes. Nearby, Tunnel Cr. R is about 2.6 miles away and Oxidine East about 3.2 miles. Griswold Creek, a canoeing spot, is 3.4 miles off, and Sand Bar Flat campground is 4.5 miles away.
