Middle Boulder is a hard hike in the Scott River Ranger District of Klamath National Forest in northern California, about 8.4 miles from the trailhead. The route is an out-and-back that climbs from about 5,055 feet to about 7,315 feet, with a total gain of 2,241 feet. The trail is a natural-surface route, and the Forest Service manages the land. The climb is steep, so plan for a long day on foot. Several other destinations sit close by. Fox Creek Ridge Trail is under a mile away, and East Boulder Lake and Telephone Lake are each about 1.2 miles off. For an overnight stay, Scott Mountain campground is about 6.4 miles away.
