Left Stringer is a 2.9-mile out-and-back hike in California's Golden Trout Wilderness, within the Mt. Whitney Ranger District of Inyo National Forest. The trail climbs from about 8,900 feet to 9,584 feet, a gain of 664 feet, and is rated hard. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route is natural-surfaced, with horses allowed and bikes not. The trail is not accessible. It lies in designated wilderness, and the trip is open year-round. Bear Meadow sits just 0.1 mile away, and Volcano Meadow and the Golden Trout Creek Trail are each about 1.8 miles off. Kern Peak Trail is roughly 2.6 miles away.
