Fox Creek Lake is a short, easy hike in the Trinity Alps Wilderness of California's Klamath National Forest, within the Scott River Ranger District. The route is about 2 miles long and climbs roughly 140 feet from a low point of about 6,550 feet to a high of about 6,660 feet, making it a low-effort outing in wilderness terrain. The trail is a natural-surface out-and-back, and the Forest Service manages the land. It sits in designated wilderness, so visitors should plan to follow wilderness rules as well as any trail-specific guidelines. The hike starts close to Fox Creek Ridge, about 0.1 mile away, and links easily to other outings in the area. Wolford lies about 1.2 miles off, and Telephone Lake is about 1.7 miles away. For an overnight stay, Carter Meadows Horse Group campground is about 4 miles from the trail.
