Cascade Creek is an easy out-and-back hike of about 2.8 miles in the Hoover Wilderness, part of the Bridgeport Ranger District of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest in California. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is a natural-surface route that allows horses but not bikes. The hike gains about 893 feet, from a low point of about 8,110 feet to a high of about 9,012 feet. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Tuolumne Meadows show July highs around 71°F with lows near 38°F, while winter highs sit in the low 40s. Upper Long Lake lies just 0.2 miles away, and Tower Lake is about 0.9 miles off. Tower Peak, a climbing area, is roughly 4.4 miles away, and Obsidian Campground is about 8.5 miles away.
