Ramshorn Campground is a Forest Service campground in the Yuba River Ranger District of Tahoe National Forest in California. It sits within the national forest's boundaries, and the nearest town is Downieville, about 5 miles away. The most comfortable months for a visit are typically late spring and early fall. Typical averages from the nearby Downieville weather station show May highs around 72°F and October highs around 72°F, with only a few wet days in each. Summer runs hotter, with July and August highs near 89°F, and winter brings highs in the upper 40s and a handful of snow days a month. Overnight stays cost $24 per night for a single site, with an additional $5 per vehicle per night. The campground is open year-round. Several trails start close by, including the North Yuba Trail about 1.4 miles away and the Saint Charles Hill Trail at about 1.5 miles. Paddlers can head to Fiddle Creek, roughly 2.2 miles off, and Rocky Rest campground is about 4 miles away.
