Indian Springs Campground is a Forest Service site in the Yuba River Ranger District of Tahoe National Forest in California. It sits along the road that passes the Johnny Wall climbing area and the Eagle Lakes Road (Indian Springs) climbing area, both about a tenth of a mile away, and the Signal Peak hike is 0.2 miles off. Vault toilets are the only listed facility, and a fee is charged for stays. The campground is a compact base for exploring the surrounding climbing and hiking. Summer is the warmest stretch. Typical averages from the nearby Lake Spaulding weather station run to highs around 82°F in July and August with lows in the upper 40s. The station sits about 440 feet below the campground, so temperatures here run slightly cooler. The Signal Peak Lookout Loop hike is 1.1 miles away, Pierce Creek Campground is 1.5 miles away, and Fordyce Creek, a paddling spot, is 3.7 miles away.
