Cascade Creek is a Forest Service campground in the Summit Ranger District of Stanislaus National Forest in California. The land is managed by the Forest Service, and the site has vault toilets as its only listed amenity. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Calaveras Big Trees show July highs around 81°F with lows near 56°F and only about one wet day in the month. That station sits roughly 1,400 feet lower than the campground, so temperatures at the site run cooler. Donnell Reservoir, a climbing area, is about 1.2 miles away, and Mill Creek campground is about 2.4 miles off. Hikers can reach the Trail of the Gargoyles Interpe at about 2.8 miles, and paddlers will find the Middle Fork Stanislaus River about 4.2 miles away.
