Skyline is a bouldering area in the Flagstaff Ranger District of Coconino National Forest in Arizona, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among a cluster of climbing and mountain biking spots, with Sunny Perch and the 1) Skeletor Area both about 0.1 mile away and the Forces of Nature mountain biking trail just as close. The area is a bouldering destination, with 23 routes all rated on the V scale. The easiest is Skyline Arete at V1, and the hardest is Tuck Wave at V10-11. The median grade is V4, so the range runs from easy to challenging. Several of the routes have first ascents credited to Danny Mauz, including Mouth of the Cannon and The Pissing Gargoyle. For timing, late spring and early fall are the most comfortable. Typical averages from the nearby Flagstaff airport weather station show May highs around 68°F and October highs around 64°F, while July and August bring the most wet days. Nearby, Little Elden Springs Horsecamp is about 3.3 miles away, and Lockett Meadow Campground is about 9 miles off. The Flagstaff Ranger District lake fishing area is about 5 miles away, and Walnut Creek, a canoeing spot, is about 7.6 miles away.
