Poseidon is a climbing area in the Santa Catalina Ranger District of Coronado National Forest in Arizona, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among several other climbing areas, with Aegir and Neptune both about 0.1 mile away. The area has nine routes, eight of which are trad and one is sport. Grades run from 5.8 up to 5.13-, with the median around 5.11+. Among the named routes are Penelope's Tapestry/Fun at 5.8, Heat Wave at 5.12-, and Deep End at 5.13-. For comfortable weather, late spring and early fall are the sweet spots. Typical averages from the Mt Lemmon Willow Canyon weather station, about 7 miles away, show May highs near 71°F and September highs near 75°F, with lows in the 50s. That station sits roughly 600 feet lower than the area, so temperatures here run a little cooler. Spencer Canyon campground is about 3.9 miles away, and Whitetail Campground is about 4.4 miles away.
