North Mesa is a climbing area in the Red Rock Ranger District of Coconino National Forest in Arizona, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among a cluster of climbing and riding spots, with South Mesa and The Mace both about 0.1 mile away. The climbing here is all trad, with eight routes ranging from 5.10a to 5.11c. The Hurricane is the easiest at 5.10a, and 1999 is the hardest at 5.11c. The first ascents of most of these routes were done by John Burcham and John Mattson. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Sedona show April highs around 75°F and October highs around 79°F, while July averages climb to about 97°F. Crescent Moon Ramada is about a mile away for camping, and Chavez Crossing is roughly 1.9 miles off. Mountain bikers can head to the Hardline trail, about 0.2 mile away, and the Easy Breezy Trail is about 0.3 mile away.
