Cathedral Rock Area is a climbing area in the Red Rock Ranger District of Coconino National Forest in Arizona, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among a cluster of climbing and riding routes, with the Baldwin #191 hike and the Baldwin Trail for mountain biking both about 0.2 miles away. North Mesa and South Mesa, two other climbing areas, are each about 0.3 miles off. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Sedona show April highs around 75°F and October highs around 79°F, while July averages climb to about 97°F. The area has three trad routes, with grades ranging from 5.5 to 5.11+. West Face is the easiest at 5.5, and Welcome to Sedona is the hardest at 5.11+. The Pirate, a 5.10+ route, was first climbed by J. Burcham and J. Mattson in 2000. Crescent Moon Ramada, a campground about 0.8 miles away, is the closest place to camp. Chavez Crossing is about 2.1 miles off.
