Flying Buttress is a climbing area in the Red Rock Ranger District of Coconino National Forest in Arizona, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among several other climbing and riding destinations in the district, so it makes a natural addition to a day or longer trip in the area. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Oak Creek Canyon, about 6 miles away, show May highs near 78°F and October highs near 74°F, while July averages around 90°F with lows near 61°F.
