First Area is a climbing area in the Red Rock Ranger District of Coconino National Forest in Arizona, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among a cluster of climbing and mountain biking spots, with several other areas within a few tenths of a mile. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Sedona show April highs around 75°F and October highs around 79°F, while July averages climb to about 97°F. Across the Creek and Bikini Wall are climbing areas just 0.1 to 0.2 miles away, and the Allens Bend mountain biking trailhead is about 0.2 miles off. For an overnight stay, Manzanita campground is roughly 3.8 miles away.
