Secret is a hard hike of about 11.8 miles in the Flagstaff Ranger District of Coconino National Forest in Arizona, managed by the Forest Service. It is an out-and-back trail with a low point at about 7,860 feet and a high point near 8,396 feet, with a total elevation gain of 601 feet. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from the nearby Ft Valley weather station run from highs around 71°F in May to about 76°F in September, while July and August bring the most wet days of the year. The Yo Mama Trail lies about 0.2 miles away, and the Secret Trail-Twisted Sister mountain biking route is about 0.4 miles off. Climbers can reach Freidlein Prairie at about 1.7 miles, and Lockett Meadow Campground, about 6.2 miles away, offers a place to stay.
