Mormon Mountain is a moderate out-and-back hike of about 5 miles in the Flagstaff Ranger District of Coconino National Forest in Arizona. It rises from a low point of 7,204 feet to a high of 8,460 feet, giving it a one-way climb of about 1,200 feet. Late spring through early fall is the most comfortable stretch. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Happy Jack run from highs around 65°F in May to about 78°F in July, with temperatures up on the mountain running cooler than those figures. The trail is not accessible. Ledges and Dairy Springs campground sit right beside the start, and the Lakeview Trail and Arizona Trail are both within a few miles.
