Ledges is an easy hike of about 1.2 miles on natural trail in the Flagstaff Ranger District of Coconino National Forest, managed by the Forest Service. The route is an out-and-back that gains about 110 feet, with the low point at 7,227 feet and the high at 7,330 feet. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Happy Jack put July highs around 78°F with lows near 51°F, while winter highs stay in the low 40s. Mormon Mountain and the Dairy Springs campground are both within a quarter mile. Lakeview Trail is about a mile away, and Mormon Lake, a fishing spot, is roughly 3 miles off.
