Largo is a hard out-and-back hike in Arizona's Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests, within the Alpine Ranger District. The trail is 9.45 miles long and gains about 2,065 feet, with a low point of 5,724 feet and a high of 7,794 feet. It is managed by the Forest Service, and the natural-surface route is open year round. The trail is not accessible, and bikes are not allowed. Horses are welcome, so it works well as a riding route. Plan on a full day, and expect a steady climb through the high country. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from the nearby Alpine weather station show May highs around 69°F and October highs around 64°F, while July and August bring the most wet days. That station sits at a similar elevation to the trail's high point. Several other hikes start close by, including S Canyon and Lanphier, each about 0.6 miles away, and Sawmill at about a mile. Blue Crossing Campground is 3.5 miles off.
