Half Moon is a 7.2-mile out-and-back hike on the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests in Arizona, within the Alpine Ranger District. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail's one-way climb is about 594 feet. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from the nearby Alpine weather station show May highs around 69°F and September highs around 72°F, while July and August bring the most wet days, about 13 to 15 a month. The trailhead sits close to mountain biking on the Lookout Meadow Loop, about 0.3 miles away, and the Isolation trail, about 0.4 miles away. Alpine Divide Campground is about 4.9 miles off. Hulsey Lake Fishing Site is about 6.4 miles away.
