Georges Lake is an out-and-back hike of about 8 miles in Arizona's Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests, within the Alpine Ranger District. The trail climbs roughly 400 feet from a low point of about 8,011 feet to a high of about 8,539 feet, and it is rated moderate. The Forest Service manages the land. The trail is natural-surfaced, bikes are allowed, and it is not an accessible route. It is open year-round. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from the nearby Alpine, AZ weather station show May highs around 69°F and September highs around 72°F, while July and August bring the most wet days, about 13 and 15 a month. Luna Lake Day Use Area and Luna Lake are both about 2 miles away, and Alpine Divide Campground sits about 4 miles out. Terry Flat offers another hike roughly 5 miles from the trail.
