The Luna Lake Short Loop is a 2.4-mile loop hike in Arizona's Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests, within the Alpine Ranger District. The route gains about 163 feet of elevation over the course of the loop, with the low point at 7,951 feet and the high at 8,142 feet. The trail is managed by the Forest Service and is rated easy. The trail is natural-surfaced and allows biking. It is not an accessible route. The Luna Lake Bike Th parking area serves as the trailhead, and the loop stays open year-round, with an estimated time of about an hour for the walk. For the most comfortable conditions, aim for late spring or early fall. Typical averages from the Alpine weather station, about 4 miles away, show May highs near 69°F and October highs near 64°F, while July and August bring the most wet days.
