Brown Canyon Ranch is an easy, short hike in the Sierra Vista Ranger District of Coronado National Forest in Arizona, about a mile from the town of Sierra Vista. The trail is an out-and-back, roughly a mile long, with a total elevation gain of about 16 feet. It's a low-commitment outing, and the Forest Service lists it as accessible. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from the nearby Sierra Vista weather station show April highs around 77°F and October highs around 80°F, while July and August average in the low 90s with the most wet days of the year. The trail is natural-surface and allows horses and bikes. That makes it a good option for riders or equestrians looking for a short ride close to town. Brown Canyon is about half a mile away, and Barchas Ranch Trail 6 and Barchas Ranch Trail 1 are each about 0.7 miles off. For an overnight stay, Reef Townsite Campground is about 2.6 miles away.
