Blacketts Ridge is a moderate out-and-back hike in Arizona's Coronado National Forest, within the Santa Catalina Ranger District. The trail is about 3 miles long, with a one-way elevation gain of 1,391 feet, taking you from a low point of about 3,015 feet to a high of about 4,394 feet. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is natural-surfaced and open year-round. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show March highs around 74°F and October highs around 86°F, while June and July average in the low to mid 100s. That station sits roughly 1,300 feet lower than the ridge, so temperatures on the trail run cooler. The trail is not accessible. Bikes are allowed, so it works for hikers and riders alike. The Sabino Lake hike and the Creek mountain biking route both start about 0.2 miles away, and the Sabino Canyon Recreation Area Cactus Ramada 1 campground is about half a mile off. Climbers can find the Sabino Canyon climbing area about 2 miles away.
