Idlewilde is a Forest Service campground in the Douglas Ranger District of Coronado National Forest in Arizona, about 0.1 mile from the Portal Bunkhouse and 0.2 mile from the Portal CCC House. The land is managed by the Forest Service, and the site has vault toilets. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show April highs around 73°F and October highs around 75°F, while July and August bring the most wet days, about 12 and 13 a month. Several other campsites and trails sit within a short distance. Stewart is about 0.6 mile away, and the Portal Trail is about 0.5 mile away. Cathedral Rock Trail and McCord Trail are both within a mile.
