The Eastern Continental Trail is a 2.6-mile moderate hike in Alabama's Coosa Wildlife Management Area, managed by the State Department of Natural Resources. The route is an out-and-back that climbs to a high point of 616 feet, with a total elevation gain of 1,315 feet over the round trip. The steepest stretch comes at about 0.8 miles in, where the grade reaches 19 percent. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show October highs around 74°F with lows near 52°F, and April highs around 75°F. July is the warmest month, with highs near 89°F. The hike takes about 2.5 hours. The Pinhoti Trail, Pinhoti National Recreation Trail and Pinhoti Trail - Get Portion all lie about 7 miles away, and Cc Camp Road is about 7.5 miles off.
