About Texon
Texon is an unincorporated community in Reagan County, Texas, located in the western part of the state. Its identity is rooted in an oil boom that once brought it to life, followed by a near-total decline that left it a shadow of its former self.
Visitors today find little of the activity that once defined the place. The oil-driven prosperity that shaped Texon has long faded, and the town now stands as a largely abandoned remnant. Expect sparse physical remains and a quiet, desolate setting rather than a restored historic district.
