About Rawhide

Rawhide is a former gold-mining town in Mineral County, Nevada, located roughly 55 miles southeast of Fallon. Like many boom-era settlements, it rose and fell with the fortunes of its primary industry, leaving behind little trace of what was once a functioning community.

Visitors hoping to find ruins or historic remnants will be disappointed: modern mining activity has since dismantled the site, and there is essentially nothing left to see on the ground today. Rawhide is best understood as a historical footnote rather than a destination with visible character.
