About Quartz Mountain

Quartz Mountain is a ghost town in Nye County, Nevada, encompassing the remnants of an old post office and a defunct mining operation. During a four-year stretch from 1926 to 1930, the site attracted significant commercial attention, drawing more than fifteen mining companies to the area. The local mines yielded high-grade silver and lead ores, making Quartz Mountain a notable extraction destination during that era.

Today the site stands abandoned, and visitors will find little beyond the quiet desert landscape and whatever structural traces remain from its brief period of activity. It appeals primarily to those interested in Nevada's mining history and the atmospheric quality of forgotten places.
