About Pisek
Pisek is a ghost town in northern Colorado County, Texas. Once a small community, it was gradually left behind after 1941 as residents relocated to nearby Lone Oak along Farm to Market Road 1291. The old townsite sits along a railroad corridor running between Fayetteville in Fayette County and New Ulm in Austin County.
Visitors today will find little more than the quiet rural landscape and the remnants of a place that simply faded away. There are no documented structures or formal attractions on site, making this a destination primarily for those with an interest in Texas history and the stories of small communities that once dotted the state's countryside.
