Wet Beaver Wilderness

Wet Beaver Wilderness is a 6,178-acre federally protected Wilderness Area in Arizona, managed by the Forest Service. The landscape offers a mix of canyon and upland terrain typical of central Arizona's backcountry, where hikers and backpackers can expect solitude and untrammeled natural conditions.

This is true wilderness: no roads, motors, or mechanized travel are permitted. Visitors must travel on foot, and all use follows Leave No Trace principles. Access is by trail only, and the primitive character means facilities are nonexistent once you enter. Spring and fall offer the most comfortable hiking seasons, though summer and winter visits are possible depending on water availability and weather.
