Cucamonga Wilderness

Cucamonga Wilderness is a 13,007-acre federally protected backcountry area in California managed by the Forest Service. This is genuine wilderness—no roads, motors, or mechanized travel are permitted. Visitors come here to hike and backpack in primitive conditions, seeking solitude and untrammeled landscape. The area demands Leave No Trace ethics: pack out what you pack in, camp responsibly, and travel on foot only.

Access is on foot from trailheads outside the wilderness boundary. Because this is high-elevation terrain in Southern California, seasonal snow and weather are real factors. Summer and early fall offer the most reliable hiking conditions. Winter typically brings snow and hazardous conditions that close or severely restrict access.
