Lucerne Valley is a climbing area in Wyoming's Ashley National Forest, within the Flaming Gorge Ranger District. The Forest Service manages the land, and the climbing lies about 1.5 miles from the Snaggletooth area. The closest campground is Stateline Cove, across the Utah line at about 1.6 miles. Summer is the most comfortable time to climb. Typical averages from the nearby Manila, Utah weather station show July highs around 83°F with lows near 54°F, while winter highs stay in the mid-30s. The routes here run from about 5.7 to 5.11- on the YDS scale. Four are sport routes and one is trad. The hardest is Cut Loose at 5.11-, and the easiest is Death Wish, a trad climb at 5.7. Parking Lot Conglomerate and Prickly Baseballs are both sport routes at about 5.8. For an overnight base, Stateline Cove Campground is close by, and Lucerne campground is about 2.8 miles away. Sheep Creek Boat Launch Area offers river fishing about 6 miles off, and the Flaming Gorge NRA has lake fishing at about 7.6 miles.
