Lower Blacktail Butte is a climbing area in Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming, managed by the National Park Service. It sits within the park's land, and a fee is charged for access. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Moose put July highs around 79°F with lows near 43°F, and August is similar at about 78°F. Winter is harsh, with January highs around 24°F and lows near 2°F. The area has 13 routes, mostly alpine, with grades ranging from 5.10c to 5.13a. Among them are Leftovers (5.10c), Higher Education (5.12a) and Waterstreak Direct (5.13a). The Blacktail Butte Trail and Ditch Creek Pathway Access both start about 0.1 mile away, and Upper Blacktail Butte is about half a mile off. Atherton Creek Campground is roughly 9 miles away.
