Left Side is a climbing area in Wyoming's Shoshone National Forest, within the Washakie Ranger District. The Forest Service manages the land, and the area sits close to several other climbing spots and trails, making it a natural anchor for a day of rock and hiking in the district. The climbing here is sport, with three routes ranging from 5.10a to 5.12a. Spacey Cowgirl is the easiest at 5.10a, Alien Outlaws is the median at 5.10d, and AstroNaughty Cowgirl is the hardest at 5.12a. July is the warmest month, with typical highs around 78°F and lows near 43°F, according to averages from a nearby weather station at Atlantic City. That station sits roughly 1,000 feet lower than the area, so temperatures on the crag run cooler. Winters are severe, with January highs typically near 30°F. Several other climbing areas and hikes start within a tenth of a mile, including Tribal War and Poker Face Alice for climbing and the Zorro Wall Trail for hiking. Aspen Glade campground, about 2 miles away, is the closest place to camp.
