The Bunker is a climbing area in the Laramie Ranger District of Wyoming's Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among a cluster of bouldering and sport routes, with Boat Rock and The Schoolyard both about a tenth of a mile away. The climbing here leans toward bouldering, with six boulder problems among the eight routes listed, along with one sport route and one trad route. Grades range from V1 to V4 on the V scale and from 5.11 to 5.12+ on the YDS scale. Spirits Rebellious is a 5.12b boulder problem, and Hugs and Kisses from Salt Lake City is a 5.11c sport route. The Body Dump Area and surrounding boulders lie about 0.1 mile away. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. A nearby weather station in Laramie, at about 7,390 feet, records typical July averages of 81°F for the high and 52°F for the low, while temperatures at The Bunker run cooler because it sits higher. Winter is cold, with typical January highs around 33°F. Vedauwoo Campground is about 1.9 miles away.
