Whetstone Trail is a 17.2-mile out-and-back route in Wyoming's Teton Wilderness, part of the Bridger-Teton National Forest's Blackrock Ranger District. The trail rises from 7,098 feet to 9,131 feet, a total gain of 2,084 feet, and is rated hard. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route's natural surface allows horses, while bikes are not allowed. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical July highs reach about 72°F with lows near 35°F, based on averages from a nearby weather station at a similar elevation. Winters are cold, with January highs around 26°F and lows below zero. Several trails and camps sit close by. Moss Lake Trail and Pacific Creek Trail are each about a mile away, and Pacific Creek Campground is about 1.4 miles off. Gravel Creek Trail is about 2.5 miles away.
