Silas Lake is an easy out-and-back hike in the Popo Agie Wilderness, part of the Washakie Ranger District of Shoshone National Forest in Wyoming. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is about 4.2 miles long, with a one-way elevation gain of 405 feet. The route starts at a low point of about 9,700 feet and reaches a high of about 10,128 feet. The trail is natural-surfaced and allows horses, so riders can take it as well as hikers. It's a short, low-effort outing that fits easily into a day in the wilderness. Fiddlers Lake Campground sits about 1.5 miles away, and the Christina Lake and Upper Silas To Island Lake hikes are each about 1.6 miles off. For climbing, Louis Lake Loop Granite is roughly 5.4 miles away.
