Louis Lake is an easy out-and-back hike of about 4.5 miles in the Washakie Ranger District of Shoshone National Forest in Wyoming, managed by the Forest Service. The trail rises from a low point of about 8,586 feet to a high of about 9,616 feet, with a total elevation gain of 580 feet. The route is on natural surface, and both horses and bikes are allowed. That makes it a flexible option for riders and pack animals as well as hikers. Louis Lake Campground sits about 0.6 miles away, and Popo Agie campground is about 1.1 miles off. For more hiking, the Sioux Pass Trail is about 2.3 miles away and the Christina Lake hike is about 2.6 miles away.
