Rodent Creek is a hard hike of about 8.6 miles in the Teton Wilderness, part of the Bridger-Teton National Forest's Blackrock Ranger District in Wyoming. The trail rises from a low point of about 7,572 feet to roughly 8,300 feet, so plan on about 690 feet of elevation gain one way. The Forest Service manages the surrounding land, and the trail is on natural surface. The most comfortable stretch for a visit runs from June through September. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July highs around 77°F and lows near 38°F, with July and August the driest months of the year. That station sits well below the trail, so temperatures on the route run cooler. Horses are allowed, and bikes are not. The Wolverine Cutoff and Wolverine Creek Trail are within about 2.6 miles. Sheffield Campground, about 7.7 miles away, is the closest place to camp.
