Southern WV is a climbing area in West Virginia, about half a mile from the town of Eskdale. It is a compact spot with six routes, three of which are boulders, and it works well as a short outing close to town. The most comfortable months for a visit are late spring and early fall. Typical averages from the nearby London Locks weather station show May highs around 75°F and September highs near 79°F, with September also seeing the fewest wet days of the year. That station sits roughly 650 feet lower than the climbing area, so temperatures up high run cooler. The routes here range from trad and mixed styles, with grades from about 5.6 to 5.9- on the YDS scale and V0 to V6 on the V scale. Three of the named routes are Dreams of Cali (5.6, trad), Under The Graffiti (5.6, mixed) and Surrounded by cops (5.9-, trad).
